Are we required to wear bike helmets when we go biking?
Question by smart guy: Are we required to wear bike helmets when we go biking?
Or is that just a suggestion. I was told that if we are caught biking without a bike helmet we will get a fine.
I live in Texas. And, when I bike, I usually bike on the sidewalk at a relatively slow speed.

never allow yourself to be embarassed. You can only try your best. FUCK what anyone else thinks of your time/speed… But anyhoo, try training at higher altitudes or with a snorkel… only allow urself to breath through the snorkel and it will help improve your lungs. And never quit. just ride and ride and when it starts to burn and hurt just ride some more. ur physical stats will improve with your confidence

What store(s) could I buy a gel seat for my bike and some biking gloves?
Question by Red Rum: What store(s) could I buy a gel seat for my bike and some biking gloves?
I’m really into riding my bike this year. I ride miles and miles everyday. I would like to ride even more, but my seat isn’t the most comfortable thing. I’m not sure where I could go to buy a gel seat and maybe some biking gloves. There is a bike store right by my house but its very expensive. Helmets alone are over $ 100.
Should I try looking at another sports store like Dicks or would Target even have what I’m looking for?

Answer by lavalamp3773
The two displacements for the cyclists are:
s1 = 6(t+3)
s2 = 10t
Where t is the time in hours, what you want to find is:
10t = 6(t+3)
So solve for t:
10t = 6t + 18
4t = 18
t = 4.5 hours

Getting Young Bicyclists Ready For the Biking Season.
Getting Young Bicyclists Ready For the Biking Season.
Victor, NY (PRWEB) January 19, 2011
The spring and summer seasons will see an increase in the number of younger bike riders taking to the streets and sidewalks in our neighborhoods. This is also the time to teach younger bike riders the basics of bike and traffic safety. These organized events are typically called “bike rodeos”.
Bike Rodeos are, in many cases, the only opportunity to educate parents and children about the safety aspects of riding a bicycle on streets and roads. The typical goals of a bike rodeo are to empower young cyclists with a minimal set of skills for on-road riding and to teach them a small subset of the rules of the road sufficient to keep them safe.
Emergency Services Communications has put together a Bike Rodeo Starter Kit to help Bike Safety Instructors and Bike Rodeo sponsoring organizations teach bike and traffic safety to young riders. Our Bike Rodeo Starter Kit was developed after receiving input from several members of the local safety community. The Bike Rodeo Starter Kit consists of 81 pieces of equipment (15 Plastic Traffic / Station Signs, 15 Sign Holders, 50 Saucer Cones and a Storage / Carry Bag.) that can be used to set-up a basic bike rodeo course.
To supplement the kit, additional items are available – such as a 4 sided, manually operated plastic traffic signal that stands 41 inches tall when assembled and collapsible traffic cones.
